Kapali still hopeful to come back

Sylhet Royals paid the price for dropping the catch of Marlon Samuels who muscled out them by playing a 48 ball-72 runs knock. Royals though went close to first ever victory in BPL courtesy to their top three batsmen, the middle order wiped out the chance. Alok Kapali’s dismissal was a vital point of the match with Pakistani Fawad Alam gripping an excellent diving catch almost on the boundary rope.
Kapali did not mention his dismissal crucial but rued for missing catch of Marlon Samuels.
“Dropping catches could play a decisive role in any sort of game. Missing the catch of Samuels played the important role today,” he admitted during the post-match conference.
“But the main reason behind our downfall that we could not fire in all three departments in any match. Hopefully we will overcome those odds in the next matches,” Kapali expected.
Kapali did not think that all is lost since they have still many matches to play.
“I think we still have the opportunity to come back because we have many matches in the coming days. We will sit down and will try to find out the errors we’ve done in the previous matches,” the Icon of Sylhet remarked.
With the victory, Duronto Rajshahi opened the account after losing two matches at a stretch. They conceded their first loss to Chittagong Kings by 53 runs and second match to Barisal Burners by 22 runs in the money-spinning tournament.
Marlon Samuels who masterminded behind their maiden victory also thought that Sylhet threw away the match in pan missing his catch.
“The match result came to our favour when they dropped my catch. Of course, that was the turning point of the match,” Samuels believed.
“It is actually tough to play under the light. But I’m still in the game. We all wanted to turn the match in our favour. Our team had definitely needed a win. I’ve always tried to play ball to ball,” Samuels explained.
“I’ll play in such way throughout the tournament. I feel no pressure to play in the situation,” the 31-year old batsman said while replying to a query.
In most of the matches of the ongoing BPL, West Indian players were adjudged man of the match for their match winning performance both in bowling and batting.
